  1. Hi, I am a Year 12 school student, and am currently incapable of printing from my Surface Laptop. Every time I click ‘add printer’ in Microsoft word, it comes up with the ‘The Active Directory Domains Services is currently unavailable’ error. I have tried changing permissions on Printer Spooler/Windows/Print Devices settings to allow full control etc, have tried trouble shooting and have added my printer in the control panel settings, yet to no avail. How can I fix this? I need access to my printer desperately.

  2. My printer (HP8620) since running a windows 10 update. I get the message ‘The Active Directory Domain Services is currently unavailable’ I have run though all of the procedures above but they make no difference. Can you help please.

  3. I have two HP Printers, one C3100 Series and one C4100 Series…both stopped working at the same time with the message The Active Directory Domain Services is currently unavailable.

The printers go through the motions of printing, sound like they’re printing, the paper goes through and the ink sounds like it’s printing. The page is blank.

I’ve ununstalled, reinstalled, troubleshooted, cleaned the printer heads, everything…nothing works. The printers are both installed according to my computer.

Can anyone help? Thank you. Beverley
